Shabazz Muhammad, Minnesota Timberwolves Rookies, Sent Home From NBA Rookie Symposium For Having Female Guests In Hotel Room

USA Today Sports is reporting Minnesota Timberwolves rookie guard Shabazz Muhammad was sent home from the NBA's Rookie Transition Program in New Jersey for violating of a rule and bringing a female guest into his hotel room Tuesday evening.

The newspaper also reports Muhammad will be fined for not completing the program which involves 50 rookies being schooled in the ways of the NBA through seminars, instruction and first account references by former players and coaches.

USA Today reports just hours before Muhammad was sent home, players were given the rules for the program, which included no guests unless approved by program administrators.

Muhammad, the No. 14 pick in the draft, will be required to return to the program next season with the 2014 draft class, even though he technically will no longer be a rookie.

It’s not the first time controversy has found the sweet-shooting former UCLA star. Earlier this year, it was revealed Muhammad was a year older than the he had claimed while playing AAU basketball and in other tournaments. The Los Angeles Times later intimated that all may have been part of a grand scheme to make Muhammad like better against younger competition.

In 2008, Mario Chalmers and Darrell Arthur were expelled from the RTP after it was discovered women and the scent of marijuana were in the room. They were both fined $20,000. Later, Michael Beasley admitted he had been in the same room and was fined $50,000
