Alex Rodriguez Wants Suspension Lifted And Apology From MLB, Threatens Lawsuit

An emboldened Alex Rodriguez is now planning to sue Major League Baseball if league officials do not completely recant their claims of performance enhancing drug use on his part, according to TMZ.

According to reports, Rodriguez plans to file suit in federal court sometime next month if the 211-game suspension imposed on him earlier this month is not completely lifted. To date, he has appealed the suspension and continues to take the field for the New York Yankees.

Sources tell TMZ advocates for Rodriguez insist he has not recently tested positive for any banned substances and has not “knowingly” used PEDs since 2003. TMZ adds Rodriguez has been tested at least 11 times since 2011 and in each instance the results were negative.

Attorneys for Rodriguez also insist it’s “absurd” that MLB officials sought such a harsh penalty against him while Ryan Braun was suspended for just the remainder of the season, or 65 games, after he reportedly tested positive as recently and 2011 and later lied about it.

They contend such a discrepancy proves MLB's investigation of A-Rod and the Biogenesis Clinic he’s been connected to have been "abusive and borderline illegal."

Sources tell TMZ Rodriguez will sue on the grounds his Collective Bargaining Agreement rights as a player have been violated.
