Washington Redskins RG3 Rumors: Griffin Is 'Done And There's No Coming Back'? [VIDEO]

Robert Griffin III will be a crucial factor determining how the 2015 season goes for the Washington Redskins, but a panel of NFL front office executives and coaches don't think that's a very good thing for the 'Skins. RGIII checked in at No. 28 on this list, and some of the panelists were unkind.

"There's no coming back," one offensive coach said. "He is done. The reason is, the injury slowed his legs, and his ego will not allow him to hit rock bottom and actually grind his way back up the right way."

Griffin was the Rookie of the Year in 2013, but he badly injured his knee during the playoffs, and has not been the same player since. After throwing just five interceptions as a rookie, Griffin has tossed 18 picks in 20 games over the next two seasons. He has been benched more than once and also dealt with more injuries over that span.

In the last two seasons Griffin has rushed for 665 yards; that is 150 fewer yards than he put up as a rookie. Griffin has not shown that he's a prolific pocket passer, and the shot-callers compiling ESPN's list think his ability to run has been diminished. They also feel as if Griffin is not humble, and not willing to accept his limitations.

"To get better in this league, you have to have a degree of humility," a personnel director said. "Griffin sees himself like Peyton, in that light. When he looks in the mirror, he is seeing things that everybody else is not seeing. That is why I was surprised when they gave him the fifth-year [option] and said it was an easy decision."

If Griffin struggles again, he will likely have a short leash. Head coach Jay Gruden has pulled RGIII in the past, and both Kirk Cousins and Colt McCoy are back this season breathing down Griffin's neck.
