Manchester United Transfer News: Javier 'Chicharito' Hernandez £12 Million West Ham Bid Better Option For Striker's Career

Slavan Bilic is prepared to break the bank for Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez. The West Ham United boss instructed club officials to make a £12 million bid for the Mexican international, according to the Independent.

It would behoove United and Hernandez to agree to it immediately.

Pedro Will Cost Manchester United £22 Million

Tottenham were one of the other rumored clubs interested in a potential transfer, tabling an £8 million bid that was later rejected, per the Express. While the club carries a greater pedigree than its West London counterpart, it fails to bring with it the playing time Hernandez needs.

Mauricio Pochettino's preference to deploy the 4-2-3-1 and Harry Kane's propensity to dominate in it leaves no room competition. Much like his season-long loan with Real Madrid, the Hernandez would simply walk from one bench to another.

Chicharito Unlikely To Sign With MLS

The same, however, will not be true at West Ham. Especially after Enner Valencia's injury.

The Ecuadorian international will be forced to miss at least 12 weeks after suffering a significant injury to his right knee and right ankle in a Europa League qualifying draw with Astra Giurgiu.

"Enner visited the consultant on Monday morning, when we discussed the results of the scans he underwent on the injury last Friday," Stijn Vandenbroucke, the club's head of medical and sports science told The Guardian. "The outcome is that there is now a very small chance he will need an operation and that we instead hope to treat the injury to his fibula using conservative treatment, which we hope to start in three weeks."

"We will know for sure whether or not Enner will need an operation next week," he added. "But if everything goes to plan, we hope he will be available for selection again within 10 to 12 weeks."

"Enner will spend the next three weeks in a walking boot and using crutches, after which we will start his rehabilitation."

One man's pain is another man's pleasure, or in this case, another man's opportunity for consistent playing time.
