A summer that started with the ultimate high of championship glory may be taking a turn for the worse for Blackhawks winger Patrick Kane.

5 Reasons Blackhawks Won 2014-15 Stanley Cup

Less than two months after hoisting the Stanley Cup for the third time in his career, Kane is under police investigation for an unknown incident in his upstate New York hometown, the Buffalo News reports.

Kane, 26, lives in Hamburg, N.Y. in the offseason and the newspaper cites two anonymous sources that stated the Blackhawks winger is under investigation by police without disclosing the nature of the incident that led to it.

No arrests have been made in the case, according to the Chicago Tribune.

Kane has a history of off-ice incidents as he pleaded guilty to a non-criminal violation of disorderly conduct in August 2009 after he was arrested following a dispute with a cab driver in Buffalo.

The three-time Stanley Cup champion and his cousin were accused by the cab driver of assault and stealing a fare.

As a result, Kane was ordered to send an apology to the cab driver, pay $125 in court costs and to stay out of trouble for a year under "conditional" discharge.

In May 2012, Kane was involved in another incident when pictures surfaced of him celebrating Cinco de Mayo in Madison, Wis. Reports then surfaced that Kane was involved in an altercation outside of a bar, but he wasn't arrested, according to the Chicago Tribune.

Kane was second on the Blackhawks with 27 goals and 64 points in the regular season, but his campaign was cut short due to a broken collarbone that was originally supposed to sideline him until at least the Western Conference Final.

The young winger returned in time for the opening round of the Stanley Cup playoffs and eventually paced Chicago with 11 postseason tallies and 23 points.

The Blackhawks went on to oust the Lightning in six games to win their third championship in six years, and it also marked the first time the Original Six franchise hoisted the Cup on home ice since 1938.

Kane, who had been lauded for his maturity by staying out of trouble, joked at the team's victory parade that things could be changing.

"I know you said I've been growing up, but watch out for me the next week," Kane said per the Chicago Tribune.
