Even the reigning National League Cy Young and MVP Award winner doesn't always get the call, or catch the ball, much to the chagrin of Clayton Kershaw.
The Dodgers pitcher flipped out Tuesday night during his outing against the Athletics in Oakland. Kershaw was facing Danny Valencia when he thought he struck him out looking with a pitch on the outside corner to end the third inning.

The southpaw didn't get the call from home plate umpire Todd Tichenor, much to the consternation of the five-time All-Star.
As the inning continued, Valencia hit Kershaw's next offering weakly up the third base side and the left-hander ran off the mound in an attempt to chase it down. Kershaw tried to hunt down the bouncing ball, but was unable to come up with it after it glanced off his glove and again when he tried to scoop it up.

That's when rage took control.
With the frustration of the last two pitches fresh on his mind, Kershaw picked the ball up and slammed it into the ground. With that reaction not being enough to satisfy his flaring temper, the pitcher then opted to hurl the ball into the Dodgers dugout for good measure.
While the one ball got the better of Kershaw, he was able to make an unbelievable play on second baseman Eric Sogard earlier in the game with an unfathomable behind-the-back snag:

Kershaw cooled down following his outburst, striking out the next batter and finishing the game with four shutout innings. Overall, the lefty allowed one earned run on five hits in seven innings with seven strikeouts and two walks as his ERA dropped to 2.34.
If the non-strike call and the elusive ball were enough to make Kershaw rage out, it's hard to imagine what his reaction was like after his teammates wasted his gem, losing to the A's, 5-4, in walk-off fashion in 10 innings.
