Philip Rivers Contract Extension: QB Celebrates New Deal With Domino's Pizza [VIDEO]

Get the door Philip Rivers, it's Domino's.

The Chargers quarterback had one thing on his mind after inking a four-year, $83.25 million deal with a whopping $65 million guaranteed: Pizza.

At a press conference to discuss his new contract, Rivers revealed that he ushered in the deal by eating some Domino's.

"I don't know that I'd call it a celebration," Rivers explained. "I'm certainly excited and grateful and we're fired up, but I guess we ended up being off when the news hit when we actually came to an agreement, I actually stopped by and got a Domino's pizza on the way home. If that counts."

When one reporter asked him what the toppings were, he smiled and his voice reached an emphatic pitch.

"Pepperonis, jalapeños and black olives," Rivers said. "It was late; [the kids] were asleep."

Dominos, of course, was excited about the news:

Rivers, 33, signed a deal that also includes a no-trade clause, according to ESPN. The quarterback is committed to the Chargers for the next five years, even if the team isn't committed to San Diego. There were rumors that if the Chargers were to move to Los Angeles, Rivers would want an opt out, but there was no language entered into the contract that backs that notion.

The five-time Pro Bowler and his wife are expecting their eighth child and he had said in the past he didn't want to raise a family in L.A. Of course, Rivers being offered the most guaranteed money out of any other active player in the league may have changed things.

Rivers is coming off of a season where he went 379-for-570 for 4,286 yards with 31 touchdowns and 18 interceptions, which tied him for the league-worst in that category. San Diego finished in third place with a 9-7 record for the second straight season, but failed to make the playoffs.

The Chargers open up their slate against the Lions on Sept. 13. Come season's end, Rivers hopes to be celebrating a Super Bowl victory, with pizza of course.
