Jordy Nelson's season-ending knee injury was unavoidable and inevitable.
That's what Detroit Lions safety Glover Quin said about the star Packer wide receiver's torn ACL, basing his information on a greater authority, according to the Detroit Free Press.

In an article examining the importance -- or in this case, harm -- of the NFL preseason, Quin argued that Nelson was destined to suffer the season-ending left knee injury.
"I hate that Jordy got hurt, but in my beliefs and the way that I believe, it was God had meant for Jordy to get hurt," Quin said. "So if he wouldn't have got hurt today, if he wouldn't have played in that game, if he wouldn't have practiced anymore and the next time he walked on the field would have been opening day, I feel like he would have got hurt opening day."

The 2014 Pro Bowl defensive back added that the freak incident -- Nelson got hurt on a non-contact play -- actually was to the Packers benefit.
"So in that sense, now they've got three weeks to make adjustments and prepare before opening day as opposed to that happening opening day and now you're in the season and now Jordy gets hurt," Quin said. "So it happened in the preseason. You hate that it happened, but it gives them time to make adjustments and try to find something."
Nelson has been a huge part of Green Bay's success in the three seasons he was healthy -- he missed four games in 2012 due to a nagging hamstring injury. The seven-year veteran had a 1,263-yard season in 2011, a 1,314-yard season in 2013 and a 1,519-yard season in 2014.
NFL.com reported that quarterback Aaron Rodgers' passer rating on throws intended for his go-to receiver has been 150.2, 130.3, 111.6 and 128.2 over the past four seasons, per Pro Football Focus.
"Their chemistry is perhaps unparalleled in today's NFL," according to NFL.com.
