Hulk Hogan Racist Rant WWE News: 'Hulkster' Didn't Talk To Vince McMahon After Leaked Tape, Fired By Triple H [VIDEO]

Hulk Hogan is arguably the most influential wrestler in WWE history, but following his leaked racist rant from many years ago, the company cut ties with the man that spread "Hulkamania" throughout the world.

Hogan recently discussed everything that led to the WWE cutting ties with him after the National Enquirer leaked audio of the six-time WWE World Heavyweight Champion using the n-word in a secretly-recorded rant. The WWE reacted to the tape by scrubbing Hogan from its website, firing him and taking down his merchandise.

"The Hulkster" said he spoke with Triple H when everything went down, but he didn't get a chance to explain himself to WWE CEO and chairman Vince McMahon, who he's known for over 30 years.

"I never talked to Vince," Hogan told the Sports Illustrated Extra Mustard Blog. "The only person I talked to was Triple H. I called him and told him there was some old news coming out from when TMZ first reported the tape and there were some racial slurs on it. Triple H said, 'OK, thanks for calling. Let me talk to Vince.' He called me back a half hour later and he goes, 'I've got some news and it isn't good. Vince said that you need to resign.' I never heard from Vince or talked to Vince. In the middle of the night, they just fired me."

Hogan said he understood they were doing what they thought was "best for business," and he added that USA Network was very upset over what happened and the WWE had to react. He also added that he was surprised at the way they swiftly got rid of him.

"That's not characteristic of what the WWE does," he said of his dismissal. "Vince McMahon reaches out and helps people. If you're a drug abuser or you abuse alcohol, Vince McMahon and the WWE reach out and help people. So what's so uncommon about this was they took the symptoms, said, 'Oh my god, there's a symptom of being a racist,' and threw me away."

Hogan added that WWE is "where my home is," but it seems he won't be heading back there anytime soon.
