Indianapolis Colts Offense Struggles: Chuck Pagano Expects More Big Blitzing From Jets On Monday Night Football [VIDEO]

The Colts had a shockingly tough time moving the ball Sunday afternoon against Rex Ryan's Bills, and coach Chuck Pagano anticipates more of the same approach to stopping his offense from the Jets. The Bills blitzed on more than half of the Colts' pass attempts, per the Indianapolis Star, and Jets coach Todd Bowles was very blitz-happy in Arizona.

"You've got to make them pay," Pagano said. "We had opportunities that we didn't take advantage of. But I feel like our guys did a good job of handling it. (Ryan) threw everything but the kitchen sink at us. I think our guys responded. ... But you have to make plays. You have to make contested catches with guys all over you. You have to burn them. You have to talk them out of (the blitz)."

According to quarterback Andrew Luck, the blame is on him and his wide receivers, and not the offensive line. "By and large, our guys did a really good job upfront of handling some real funk," Luck said. "We didn't make them pay enough. That's how you beat a blitz."

Maybe that's why the Colts are investigating the possibility of bringing back Ahmad Bradshaw, who is healthy and past a one-game suspension for marijuana. Bradshaw played in 13 games over the last two seasons for Indianapolis and caught six touchdown passes last year before a season-ending injury. He is also a quality blocker in blitz pickup.

The Colts invested in Frank Gore this offseason, presumably to help relieve pressure on Luck in the red zone, and improve a running game that was near the bottom of the league. Gore rushed eight times for 31 yards on Sunday. It is too early to give up on the 34-year-old, but adding Bradshaw makes sense for passing downs, and more dynamic playmaking.
