Sting will compete in just his second WWE match at Night of Champions this Sunday in Texas and even he didn't expect to be going one-on-one with Seth Rollins.
"The Vigilante" will battle "The Architect" at the Toyota Center in Houston for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. Though he lost his debut match against Triple H in March at WrestleMania, the former WCW icon and TNA Hall of Famer was granted a shot at the richest prize in the game due to all he's done in the industry.

When Sting first signed with the WWE last fall, it was expected that he'd take on the likes of WWE legends like Triple H and The Undertaker, but now he's going against a 29-year-old prodigy in Rollins. The six-time WCW World Heavyweight Champion admitted the feud was unexpected, but he's happy for the opportunity to mix it up with "The Undisputed Future."
"To be straight with you, no," Sting told Rolling Stone in an interview when asked if he expected to grapple with young stars. "Although, man, if presented to me, I would wanna walk through that door, because there's so many new, young, incredibly talented people - Seth being the best, I believe, as far as creativity and innovation in the ring. So you just can't get much better than this. It's just the nature of our business. Everything is always subject to change, and you never know what's gonna happen next. It was unexpected for me too, but again, the door opened, and I chose to walk through it."

Sting said he isn't worried about his legacy if he's booked to lose and fall to 0-2 in his WWE career. He also said he's having a great experience with the company ever since making his debut last November at Survivor Series.
"It has been gratifying," he said. "After 30 years, I've learned to really appreciate the fans and the wrestlers and everybody in the whole industry a lot more. I held off on doing [public appearances] until WWE, and now I'm picking and choosing some things that I'm doing here and there, Comic-Cons and whatever. And the fans are so respectful, so there's a much higher level of appreciation now than there ever was."
The anticipation for Sting reaches an all-time high Sunday when he tries to cap off his storied career with the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.
