Tim Tebow Update: Bears Join Cowboys On Potential Suitors List [VIDEO]

Tim Tebow's audition with the Eagles at least has gotten him some attention in the wake of the NFL's carousel of injured quarterbacks.

Tebow's affiliation with coach John Fox and offensive coordinator Adam Gase has made him a topic of conversation in Chicago, as suggested by windycitygridiron.com.

Bears starter Jay Cutler left the game in the first half with a strained hamstring injury and did not return. His status for the Bears' game Sunday against the Seahawks is uncertain, chicagobears.com reported.

Tebow was the starting quarterback in Denver for Fox and Gase when he guided the Broncos to a 7-4 record and led the team to a playoff victory.

Tim Tebow "Single Worst Quarterback" In NFL, According To NFL Analyst Jay Feely

"Tebow has run an NFL offense as a starting QB, and has won football games in the past," windycitygridiron.com indicated. "Would you rather see Tebow or Jimmy Clausen running the Bears offense while Cutler is sidelined?"

Meanwhile, Texas governor Greg Abbott tweeted that he wouldn't mind seeing Tebow in a Cowboys uniform while starter Tony Romo heals from a broken left clavicle injury.

Not everyone, however, shares Abbott's enthusiasm about a Tebow-Cowboys pairing.

"Put very simply: This is a bad idea," CBS Sports reports.

"For all his merits as a person and a broadcaster (he's quite good in that role), Tebow is just not a good quarterback. Since 1970, 310 players have thrown at least 350 NFL passes. Tebow ranks 298th in completion percentage, 165th in yards per attempt and 230th in passer rating index (percent above or below league average passer rating). He hasn't thrown a regular-season pass since 2012 and couldn't make the Eagles as the No. 3 QB out of training camp. (Brandon) Weeden's not so great himself, but at least he has been with the team and presumably knows the system.

The Saints also could be looking for a quarterback after reports surfaced that Drew Brees could be out several weeks because of an injured shoulder he sustained in the Week 2 loss to the Buccaneers.
