Ronda Rousey Update: UFC Star Says Having More Sex Part Of Pre-Fight Routine [VIDEO]

Mixed martial arts fans in Australia already may be lining up for Ronda Rousey's arrival after her comments on sex were reported.

The biggest name in UFC revealed to talk show host Jim Rome that she doesn't advocate -- or practice -- the once long-standing rule of abstinence before a fight, GQ Magazine reported.

Ronda Rousey-Holly Holm Fight Expected To Shatter UFC Attendance Record

"I mean, for girls, it raises your testosterone, so I try to have as much sex as possible before I fight, actually," she said, laughing. "Not with like everybody, I don't put out Craigslist ads or anything, but you know, if I got a steady I'm going to be like 'Yo. Fight time's coming up.'"

Rousey added that she's done research on the subject and says the traditional abstinence claim for men is unsubstantiated and that abstinence may actually hurt them.

Holly Holm Emerges As Biggest Rival To Ronda Rousey

Rousey's research is supported wholeheartedly by GQ.

"Interesting. So instead of taking a dumb, old sports superstition at face value, Ronda Rousey uses science to prepare for a match. And how has that gone for her?" GQ asked. "Oh, she's undefeated in her six fights since that interview and has only gone past the first round once? Okay, cool."

Rousey is preparing for her next title fight Nov. 14 in Melbourne, Australia where she will take on former women's boxing champion Holly Holm.

The fight already has sold some 55,000 tickets, and is expected to add 15,000 more floor seats, which would make the fight the highest-attended bout in UFC history.
