Russell Wilson has a heavy heart and newfound motivation.
A day after a little girl at the Seattle Children's Hospital met the Seahawks quarterback and asked him to become her Godfather, the girl died, according to KOMONews.com.

Wilson and girlfriend Ciara visited the children at the hospital on Tuesday and met a young girl named Ailynn. He posted on his Instagram account that she asked him to be her Godfather and he accepted.

But on Wednesday, Wilson posted a photo of Ailynn, Ciara and himself, revealing that the child had died.

Wilson makes weekly visits to the Seattle Children's Hospital, KOMO reported. Ailynn's family told the news station that it was her final wish to meet Wilson before she died.
The relationship between Wilson and Ciara, which has been going on since the spring, has had its share of detractors -- from Ciara's ex, rap star Future, to Seahawks fans that recently tried unsuccessfully to open a GoFundMe account to break up the couple after the Seahawks' 0-2 start.
The fans jokingly explain that Future's professional career has skyrocketed since the breakup with Ciara -- the two have a child together, Future Zahire -- and want to see the same thing happen to Wilson to lead the Seahawks back to prominence.
But it would be nice if these fans would do something as heartfelt as visit a children's hospital or start a GoFundMe account to benefit a charity.
As much criticism as Wilson and Ciara have received, at least they're trying to use their popularity for good causes.
