Matt Jones Buy-Low: Redskins Bad Game Thursday Night Makes A Trade Easier [VIDEO]

Redskins running back Matt Jones was one of the most widely-added players in fantasy after exploding for 123 yards and two touchdowns in Week 2. Jones was fast, and more importantly, made Alfred Morris look obsolete.

That all changed on Thursday night. The Giants dominated the Redskins, and Jones managed just 38 yards on 11 carries. That marks two games of weak production, and one week of first-round production for Jones. When you take into account how few fantasy owners probably had Jones in their lineup in Week 2, his big game probably frustrated Morris owners more than it helped Jones' owners.

So should you abandon your plans to trade for Jones? Absolutely not. In fact, if you're high on Jones, Week 3's bust as the best possible outcome.

Maybe he stunk, but Morris did too. Morris only received six carries to Jones' 11, and he did even less with them, accumulating just 19 yards. He runs at a different speed than Jones -a slower one - and he doesn't run with any more physicality than the beastly Jones.

FanDuel Best Bargains At Each Position In Week 3

If you would like to trade for Jones, offering a solid FLEX player, or possibly a quarterback in the top-8 to top-12 range should get the job done. If the Jones owner is holding out for more, a back-end WR2 option would be an aggressive, but rewarding, move.

But if Jones' owner is being unreasonable, remind him of Jones' fumbling woes. Jones has fumbled twice this season already, and his style of fighting for extra yards whenever possible opens him up to more fumble opportunities. Jones has said he doesn't think it's an issue.

"I feel like it's not an issue at all. We do ball security drills every day, and I feel comfortable carrying the ball. They just made a good play on the ball. It happens. It's football," Jones said.

But remind that Jones owner that Morris is still a quality runner, and he doesn't have any fumbling problems. If the ball hits the turf even once more, there is a doghouse with Jones' name on it.
