Usain Bolt Retiring? Jamaican Sprinter, Fastest Man In The World To Quit After Rio Olympics [VIDEO]

Usain Bolt is the fastest man in the world, and one of the few top sprinters today to have avoided a high level of performance enhancing drug suspicion. After the 2014 Rio Olympics, Bolt is hoping for one more dominant stretch followed by retired bliss.

According to reports, Bolt's plan is to hang up his track shoes following the upcoming Summer Olympics in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil. "So far, (it) is after the Olympics in Rio," Bolt said. "I think if I am in great shape, I'll go there and do what I have to do. I think it will be a good time to retire on top."

Bolt is aware of his standing in the history of dominant athletes, and wants to cement his legacy by retiring at his most dominant. "If I want to be among the greats of [Muhammad] Ali and Pele and all these guys," Bolt said, "I have to continue dominating until I retire."

The 2014 season is devoid of major championships, so Bolt appears set on breaking some records-his own records. Bolt's 100-meter record of 9.58 seconds is a tough one to best, but he said he has made improvements in how he runs the 200-meter race.

"I have learned, I have mastered the art of running the turn," Bolt said of the 200. "So if I can stay injury free and be in good shape, then it is possible for me to definitely go after the world record."

Bolt also plans to compete in the Commonwealth Games for the first time in his career, a prospect about which he expressed excitement. "I have never been to Commonwealths and so it is always good to add to your collection of gold medals," Bolt said.

In his career, Bolt has accumulated six Olympic gold medals and nine World Championships gold medals.
