O.J. Simpson Trial Anniversary: 'Juice' Meant To Commit Suicide In Kim Kardashian's Room [VIDEO]

Kim Kardashian is partially responsible for O.J. Simpson being alive to see the 20th anniversary of his infamous murder trial.

Just hours before Simpson and Al Cowlings embarked on their legendary white Bronco chase with the police, Simpson made a recording that resembled a suicide statement, Lawrence Schiller, author of "American Tragedy: The Uncensored Story of the O.J. Simpson Defense," told ABC's "20-20."

Simpson was at the home of defense attorney and friend Robert Kardashian when he made the recording.

"Oh boy, I don't know how I ended up here," Simpson is heard saying on the recording obtained by Schiller. "Please remember me as 'The Juice.' Please remember me as a good guy. Don't remember me as one of the negatives that might end up here. Please, please, please, please leave my kids at peace. I love everybody."

"He was recording this almost like a suicide tape," Schiller told "20/20." "That's what O.J. intended to be his final words."

According to the report, Kardashian found Simpson in his daughter Kim's room. Simpson, who was looking at photos of his children and wife Nicole Brown Simpson, also had a gun.

"Then O.J. said, 'I'm going to kill myself in this room,' and I said, 'You can't.' I said, 'This is my daughter's bedroom,'" Kardashian told Schiller. "'My little girl Kim sleeps here. I can't have my little girl in this bedroom, and every time I come in here, I'm going to see your body lying in this. You can't do that.'"

Simpson was acquitted of murder charges on Oct. 3, 1995.

Schiller also revealed that Simpson had his house redecorated in advance of the jury's visit to his Brentwood home; Simpson wanted all the photos of white women taken down and photos of his family put up instead.

Simpson also had a Norman Rockwell poster of a black girl being taken to school by marshals put up on his wall, according to Schiller.

Said Schiller, "That poster never existed there."
