Lamar Odom Health Update: 'Phony' Kobe Bryant Should Have Gotten 'L.O.' On The Lakers [VIDEO]

One man is not happy with the outpouring of support for Lamar Odom, especially when it comes to Lakers star Kobe Bryant. Rapper and former agent Master P, a friend of Odom’s took Bryant to task for being “phony” by rushing to his side.

Odom is currently fighting for his life in the hospital after being found unresponsive in a brothel in Nevada, and authorities say Odom had been using cocaine and an excessive amount of “Reload” sex pills. Bryant reportedly left a Lakers preseason game to be by Odom’s side, but Master P said the gesture is hollow.

Kobe Leaves Game Early To Be By Odom's Side

“I’m talkin’ about Kobe. All this man wanted to do was play basketball. Kobe was his friend, Kobe like owned the team. He could’ve got the man back on the team, because that’s all he wanted,” the rapper said.

Master P chastised Bryant, the Kardashian family, and other NBA stars who have taken to tweeting their condolences and prayers, but did little to help Odom when he was in need of it the most.

“Where the people at that he showed love to? Because he had a big heart. It’s phony man. I come from the streets. I keep it real. If you’re my friend, if you cared about me that much, why didn’t you get him in a training camp?” Master P asked.

“He was a hell of a player, you can’t take that from him. He could have been at least the eighth man on the Lakers roster this year.”

According to reports, before this incident Odom had been training hard for a comeback, and believed he was a candidate to join the Knicks. TMZ has since reported that although he met with Knicks executive Phil Jackson, they were not interested in making an offer to Odom.

Odom, who averaged 13.3 points, 8.4 rebounds and 3.7 assists, played for 14 years, won two titles with the Lakers, and won an NBA Sixth Man of the Year award.
