Ben Roethlisberger won't commit to a return for Week 7 when the Steelers battle the Chiefs, but the veteran signal caller may be playing coy.
The two-time Super Bowl champion has been out since Sept. 27, when he suffered an MCL sprain and bone bruise in the team's 12-6 victory over the Rams. Roethlisberger said he plans to be a full participant in practice this week and that he'll likely play when Pittsburgh visits Kansas City on Sunday, but he wouldn't fully commit to a return.

"We're going to tape it and brace it and I'm going to see what I can do," Roethlisberger said via the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette about the injury. "My plan is to go out Wednesday and practice. We'll see what happens. I know I've got to be smart about it. I've got to be able to defend myself. We're just going to take it day by day."
In "Big Ben's" absence, Mike Vick took the reins to the offense, but he struggled on Sunday and was replaced by Landry Jones, who helped lead the Steelers to a 25-13 victory over the Cardinals at Heinz Field. Roethlisberger was originally slated to miss 4-6 weeks and if he returns under center against the Chiefs, it will mark four weeks that he missed due to injury.

Roethlisberger returned to practice last week, but only on a limited basis. Though he won't fully announce himself ready to go, he's likely just taking his time and strategically not announcing that he's good to go.
Following his injury in the Steelers' victory against the Rams, the team lost the following week to the Ravens before picking up victories in two consecutive weeks, against the Chargers and Cardinals, to improve to 3-2.
Prior to his injury, Roethlisberger went 67-for-89 (75.3 percent) for 912 yards with four touchdowns and two interceptions.
