New York Giants News: JPP's Return Will Save A Stagnant G-Men Pass Rush [VIDEO]

Jason Pierre-Paul and the Giants came to a deal this week that will bring the damaged defensive end in for the remainder of the season.

Pierre-Paul has become more famous after severely injuring his hand this offseason in a 4th of July fireworks accident. JPP has not played or practiced with the Giants since last season, as he had been holding out for a longterm deal.

"I'm very excited to be back," Pierre-Paul said in a team statement. "I'm getting ready to do what I have to do. I've been training down in South Florida with my trainer. Every day, I got up at 7:30 and lifted weights. I've been doing what I have to do to stay in football shape."

While JPP does bring a bit of controversy with him, his on the field contributions could prove to be worth the headache. The Giants currently rank 31st in the NFL in sacks this season with just nine. JPP managed to sack the quarterback 9 times by himself in the final five games of last season.

Pierre-Paul is not expected to join the lineup until Week 10 or Week 12 as the team wants him to get back in game shape. The Giants have a bye Week 11, so Week 12 seems like the likely team for the defensive star to make his season debut.
