The beer guzzling, ass kicking WWE Hall of Famer has hinted at coming out of retirement in the past, and now with the WWE lacking in major star power, it could be time for Austin to come back home.

The "Texas Rattlesnake" challenged WWE Superstars to step up when he made a radio appearance following the reigning WWE World Heavyweight Champion being sidelined for 6-9 months due to a torn MCL and ACL.
"These guys in waiting that have been thinking if they had a shot, now is their chance to seize that opportunity," Austin said when he appeared on 105.3 The Fan in Dallas. "It's sink or swim now, and they're going to get an opportunity that they normally wouldn't have had coming."
Candidates To Become The Next WWE Champion
That opportunity comes in the form of a tournament to crown a new WWE World Heavyweight Champion at Survivor Series on Nov. 22 in Atlanta. The event was originally supposed to be the backdrop to a Rollins vs. Roman Reigns battle for the gold, but following the surprise injury, the company has used the tournament to generate a lot of buzz without getting into specifics.
While there are a great number of midcarders/potential upper-level talents on the roster, the WWE has taken quite the hit over the last few weeks.
Face of the franchise John Cena took a leave of absence, huge draw Brock Lesnar won't be around until January's Royal Rumble, Rollins is out for at least half a year and Randy Orton is dealing with a serious injury of his own.
Though guys like Reigns, Bray Wyatt, Kevin Owens, Cesaro, Sheamus and Dean Ambrose could grab the brass ring that Vince McMahon has cited in the past, the company could use something else to generate some buzz. This could come in the form of a return for Austin.
The "Texas Rattlesnake" has vehemently denied any physical involvement for WrestleMania 32 in his home state of Texas next April, but the company may need him even sooner than that.
The six-time WWE Champion is in great physical shape, and with the company lacking star power, it could be time to lace up the boots for the first time since 2003. Now, aging stars have had their issues recently in the WWE. The Undertaker, 50, was seriously injured by Lesnar at WrestleMania XXX, while Sting, 56, sustained a terrible neck injury at Night of Champions in September, raising questions over whether he should have been in there in the first place.
Austin, 50, could be pushing the envelope by returning, but if it's now or never for him, this is the best time he could ever decide to return to the fold.
It might be time for Austin to once again stomp a mudhole and walk it dry.
