Carolina Panthers Rumors: Cam Newton Justified In Stealing Sign From Obnoxious Packers Fan [PHOTO, VIDEO]

If an NFL fan brings a gigantic sign supporting their team to a visiting stadium, they're obnoxious and deserve to have it snatched away.

Turns out, that's exactly what happened at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte on Sunday afternoon.

Randall Cobb To Blame For Aaron Rodgers' Recent Struggles

Mike Dobs, a Fayetteville, N.C., native and Packers supporter, brought an 8x3 sign to Green Bay's road game against Carolina, which displayed the Packers logo over the state of North Carolina with the words "North Carolina Cheesehead" written out. It was an annoying move by the visiting fan, and Cam Newton agreed.

The Panthers quarterback saw the sign hanging over the railing, and ended up tearing it down.

Cam Newton Should Be Fined For Every Interception

"I was just shocked, shocked," Dobs told the Fayetteville Observer. "It went from a fun event to I was disgusted."

Dobs revealed to the Observer that he spent $500 to have the banner made and he informed stadium police that it was stolen by the Panthers signal caller. $500 for a banner? Seriously? Stadium personnel told the Packers fan they will make it up to him, but he's given them 48 hours before he takes further action.

His best action, of course, would have been to keep the banner at home. It's one thing to support your team at away games, but flying an obnoxious sign is just asking for trouble. It's not every day that a quarterback takes away your banner, but bringing it in the first place is just looking for an incident with a fan, or in this case, a player on the home team.

Plus, it seems Dobs can afford another sign, considering the Observer reported he dropped $3,800 on the tickets to the game. Newton later explained his actions and said he was just protecting his home field.

"That don't match. I feel it's my due diligence to protect this house," he told the Gaston Gazette. "We played in Green Bay last year and I didn't see no 'Panther Country' signs up there."

As for Dobs, he may have been authorized by Panthers personnel to bring the placard into the stadium, but he was breaking the rules by hovering over the railing with it.

"No banners or flags expressing support of visiting teams may be affixed to or displayed on any surface," the Panthers website's stadium policies read. "Hand held signs or posters that are in compliance with the balance of this policy are acceptable."

To add to Dobs' rough day at Bank of America Stadium, the unbeaten Panthers (8-0) toppled the Packers (6-2), 39-27, marking Green Bay's second straight loss.

Was Cam Newton justified in taking down Packers fan's banner?
