Trying to get rich quick on Fanduel? The best way to cash on weekly fantasy football sites is to load up on as many stars with good matchups as possible. Due to budget restraints, however, fantasy players must sacrifice other positions to nab the stars they want.
Here, you'll find the top bargains at each position that will let you splurge elsewhere.
Quarterbacks
1. Kirk Cousins, Redskins ($6,500): Right now playing any QB that’s going up against the Saints’ atrocious pass defense is wise. Cousins struggled last week vs. Bill Belichick’s scheme, but who doesn’t? When Cousins is set loose to just wing it, he risks some picks, but he can put up big numbers. Now that he has DeSean Jackson back that’s even more true.
2. Matt Cassel, Cowboys ($6,300): Cassel isn’t a good NFL quarterback, but he has Dez Bryant and Jason Witten to throw to, and just about any QB can pile up stats vs. the Bucs’ 29th-ranked pass defense. Cassel has one of the NFL’s best offensive lines protecting him, and if things get hairy, Darren McFadden is a very nice dump-off option who can make people miss after the catch.

3. Alex Smith, Chiefs ($6,000): Smith’s ceiling is low based on his skill set, and his matchup at Denver. But he is a better QB than many of the players more expensive than him, and the Broncos will be without star CB Aqib Talib because of his unintelligent decision to poke an opponent in the eye last week. That means Jeremy Maclin has a better chance of making some noise.
Running Backs
1. Jonathan Stewart, Panthers ($6,600): Stewart is priced right around the average player before you begin filling out your roster, when in reality he’s a Top 8 play this week. The Titans got great publicity for Marcus Mariota’s big day but that does nothing to improve the NFL’s 30th-ranked run defense. Stewart sees 20-plus carries a game, and he’s in for a big afternoon.
2. Darren Sproles, Eagles ($5,500): Sproles gets about 8-10 looks per game, and against the Dolphins, who are once again crumbling, that might be enough for a big play. Philadelphia should probably give up on Sam Bradford ever being an effective passer downfield, and instead find more ways to get Sproles involved. With this cushy matchup, this could be the week it happens. Miami ranks 25th in the NFL against RBs in the passing game.
3. Joique Bell, Lions ($5,200): Bell doesn’t get a ton of work, but against Green Bay’s pathetic run defense, he will be the back the Lions lean on this week. Expect at least one score for Bell, and for Detroit to put up a better game than most expect at home, coming off a bye week.
Wide Receivers
1. Brandon LaFell, Patriots ($6,200): LaFell got his groove back last week vs. Washington with more than 100 yards receiving, and anyone who has watched the Giants lately knows they can be beaten over the top. Expect the G-Men to really focus on limiting Julian Edelman, and for Tom Brady to wear out LaFell with 10-plus targets.
2. Kamar Aiken, Ravens ($5,400): Aiken is no great shakes, but a No. 1 receiver can not be ignored in fantasy football, especially at a price as cheap as this. Plug the guy in as your WR3, and enjoy the solid production for a small cost.
3. Marvin Jones, Bengals ($5,400): How do you feel about talented receivers going up against defenses that play as if they can’t wait for the season to be over? Once in a while Jones lays an egg, but this is an excellent price tag for someone who is a very good bet for 80-plus yards.
Tight Ends
1. Travis Kelce, Chiefs ($5,800): Dig deeper, and even though Denver has the NFL’s top-ranked defense, they aren’t very stout vs. tight ends. They rank 19th in that category, and CB Aqib Talib, a valuable cover man vs. elite TEs, is out on suspension.
2. Ben Watson, Saints ($5,500): Drew Brees loves Watson, and he’s targeting him at least five times a game, often more. Watson has the ability to go off for huge weeks as well, and the matchup vs. the Redskins in Week 10 offers just such an opportunity.
3. Crockett Gillmore, Ravens ($5,000): Jacksonville stinks against TEs, and Gillmore is a major red zone threat even if he doesn’t get targeted much throughout the game. Joe Flacco will find him for a score at least once.
