Dallas Cowboys Rumors: Jason Garrett Should Be Fired, Terry Bradshaw Says [VIDEO]

Hall of Fame quarterback and Fox NFL analyst Terry Bradshaw believes the Cowboys need to make a change to turn around their fortunes. Only, it's not the one most people assume.

Bradshaw said Sunday the Cowboys need to find a head coach that grabs players' attention more through intimidation, according to The Dallas Morning News.

Garrett is not that coach.

When the Fox Pregame crew was asked whether Tony Romo could've salvaged the Cowboys season, Bradshaw went more for the big picture.

Jerry Jones' Defense Of Greg Hardy Reeks Of Hypocrisy Against His Comments About Ray Rice

"If there is one thing I would change in Dallas is that they need a head coach that people fear a little bit, someone they are scared of getting on the wrong side of," Bradshaw said.

The Cowboys had three consecutive 8-8 seasons under Garrett before they seemingly turned the tables last season and went 12-4. But Dallas is 2-7 this season, having lost seven straight since losing Romo to a broken clavicle in Week 2.

Garrett has had to watch the Cowboys say goodbye to DeMarco Murray, an 1,800-yard rusher last season, has had to be responsible for babysitting defensive end Greg Hardy, whom owner Jerry Jones signed in the offseason, and has had to struggle with a pair of backup quarterbacks fail miserably to replace Romo in Brandon Weeden and Matt Cassel.

Fellow NFL analyst Howie Long suggested that Garrett's hands are tied because of Jones, but Bradshaw would not let Garrett off the hook.

"You step in and say it anyway," Bradshaw said. "Take control and get fired."

That has been the only strategy that has worked for the Cowboys since Jones bought the team in 1991.

Jimmy Johnson was coach, and he crafted a team that won back-to-back Super Bowls before he grew tired of Jones' antics and left the team. The Cowboys won a third Super Bowl under Barry Switzer with the players Johnson brought in.

Ironically, Johnson, now a Fox analyst, blamed the Dallas defense for its struggles during the losing streak.

"You could look at their season and you could argue that if the defense played better -- if they would've had just one stop (in several games) -- they would have won half those ball games," he said.
