Kobe Bryant Retirement Rumors: Overseas Stint Still Unclear [VIDEO]

Kobe Bryant continues to be throw questions regarding his plan after this season but it is apparent that the Lakers superstar still has nothing planned. Well at least not yet.

Bryant is playing out his final year and his plans once the contract ends on July 1  remain unclear. In an article from the Bleacher Report, there are some who suggest that he may consider playing overseas if he doesn’t get a suitable offer from the Lakers or any NBA team for that matter though all that could be punctuated by Bryant announcing that he is done.

However, the immediate question right now that could be a cause for concern is on whether Bryant can finish the season at all. He has been struggling since undergoing surgery for a torn rotator cuff, not to mention suffering added injuries which have forced head coach Byron Scott to use him sparingly.

Bryant has been patient but one has that feeling that the Black Mamba is growing frustrated at how he is playing, something that could see him forcing the issue and eventually falling prey to yet another season-ending injury.

If that happens, such could probably signal the end of Bryant’s career.

Though still early in the season, Bryant has shown how he can still be of use to the Lakers. Yahoo Sports did share an interesting piece involving Bryant, who spoked to USA Basketball coach Krzyzewski and Frank Isola on Sirius XM’s NBA channel:

If that is any indication, one setback could mean the end of Bryant’s storied NBA career. No more talk about playing another year and certainly no playing overseas.

So while folks are interested in his plans, it may be wise to note that the immediate concern is to see him finish the season healthy and with a flourish. Failure to do so may lead to the dreaded announcement, that of which is Kobe Bryant retiring.
