Tables, Ladders and Chairs ... oh my.

Possible Successors To Kevin Owens' IC Title

One of the craziest stipulations in WWE history is the TLC match and next Sunday, a pay-per-view dedicated to the stipulation will take place. The company will invade the TD Garden in Boston for TLC: Tables, Ladders & Chairs 2015.

The match has created some great memories throughout the years that will echo on in WWE lore for years to come and here are the top five TLC bouts in history.

Best Stables In WWE History

5) The Shield vs. Ryback, Kane & Daniel Bryan (2012)

The trio of Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose were only on the main roster for a month when they battled their babyface opponents at the 2012 event, but they made quite the impression. This match saw a great blend of styles and in the end, the Hounds of Justice stood tall.

4) John Cena vs. Edge (2006)

The "Cenation" leader and the "Rated 'R' Superstar" had a tremendous feud and it all came to a head when they crossed paths at Night of Champions in a TLC bout. Both men threw all they had at each other as Edge wrestled in his hometown. In the end, Cena captured his third WWE Championship by retrieving the belt after driving Edge through two tables with an Attitude Adjustment.

3) Chris Jericho & Chris Benoit vs. Edge & Christian vs. The Dudley Boyz vs. The Hardy Boyz (2001)

The Hardys, Dudleys and Edge & Christian put TLC on the map, but when Benoit and Jericho were added to the mix on a May episode of SmackDown in 2001, it created a magical situation. The four teams battled it out for the WWE Tag Team Championship, and in the end, Benoit and Jericho found a way to hang onto their titles.

2) Jeff Hardy vs. CM Punk (2009)

Hardy's final SummerSlam match was a memorable one as he battled "The Best in the World" for the World Heavyweight Championship in a TLC match. The WWE's resident daredevil missed a Swanton Bomb off a ladder and went through a table, allowing Punk to grab the gold to become the new champion.

1) Edge & Christian vs. The Hardy Boyz vs. The Dudley Boyz (2000, 2001)

Whether you prefer the original at SummerSlam 2000 or the encore at WrestleMania X-7 (2001), there is no doubt that these three tag teams had a huge influence in getting the stipulation off the ground. With the Dudleys' weapon of choice being tables, the Hardy Boyz thriving with ladders and Edge & Christian knowing their way around chairs, all three teams were instrumental in the invention of the TLC match. Edge & Christian stood tall in each of the first two TLC clashes, and would end their careers with seven Tag Team Championship wins.
