Carolina Panthers Rumors: Oddsmakers Disrespect Undefeated Cam Newton With NFC Title Odds [VIDEO]

The Panthers won again on Sunday, improving to 13-0 with a 38-0 drubbing of the Falcons, who once stood at 6-0 along with them. As the wins keep rolling in, with huge margins of victory, few are dismissing Carolina’s chances of going 16-0 anymore.

But what are their actual chances? Mathematically, there’s a 36 percent chance Cam Newton and co. get to the 2007 Patriots’ perfect regular season mark, according to USA Today.

Cam Newton's Brashness May Help vs. Tom Brady In MVP Race

They estimated the Panthers have a 69 percent chance of downing the Giants, an 80 percent chance of knocking off the Falcons again, and a 66 percent chance of beating the Buccaneers, who will be “super-charged for an end-of-year game against a team going for 16-0.”

When it comes to going 19-0, the odds dip dramatically to about 8.1 percent. The folks at USA Today warned, however, that those projections are more akin to “projections of projections,” because there’s no way to know what teams the Panthers will face in the playoffs.

The Saints May Have Exposed The Blueprint To Beating Carolina

Even though Carolina has a 36 percent chance of running the regular season table, they are not the favorites to win the Super Bowl. They are +375 to win the big game, per Bovada, sharing those odds with the Patriots, the favorites out of the AFC.

The Patriots also have better chance of winning the AFC Championship than the Panthers do of winning in the NFC, per Bovada. The oddsmakers have installed New England at +140 to win the AFC, while the Panthers are +180.

So Panthers fans, if you’re looking for disrespect to feed off of, there it is.
