Fantasy Football 2015 Waiver Wire Advice: Best Pickups For Week 16, Low Waiver Priority Options [VIDEO]

The fantasy football playoffs are underway, meaning the competition for free agents is more intense, but the pool of owners trying to add players is shallower. Even during the playoffs waiver wire additions can make or break a title run.

Top Keepers For 2016

Quarterbacks

Kirk Cousins, Redskins (24% Owned): Cousins showed up big time in a must-win vs. the Bills, throwing four touchdown passes and strengthening their hold on the NFC East division lead. This week is an even more important showdown vs. the Eagles, their direct competition. The Eagles were embarrassed by the Cardinals this week, and can’t stop anyone unless they get turnovers. Cousins is a fine pickup if you’re not thrilled with your QB’s matchup.

Teddy Bridgewater, Vikings (37% Owned): Bridgewater isn’t typically a high-scoring fantasy QB, but against the Giants’ atrocious pass defense just about any passer becomes a decent play. Bridgewater is also capable of doing some damage on the ground. Don’t expect him to be Cam Newton, but the Vikings still have plenty to play for.

Josh Norman Isn't Making Many Friends This Year

Running Backs

Duke Johnson, Browns (42% Owned): Carries are king most of the time in fantasy, but Johnson is a special case. He’s very explosive, and even though he’ll only see 10-12 touches, with Johnny Manziel extending plays there is a lot of potential for a long score.

Christine Michael, Seahawks (10% Owned): Yes, again. Michael got 16 carries to Bryce Brown’s eight so he’s the “guy” to own in Seattle if you’re invested in that backfield. His value is hurt by Fred Jackson’s ownership of passing downs.

Bilal Powell, Jets (21% Owned): Powell extended his touchdowns streak to three games against the Cowboys, this time taking it to the house on a straight run. He’s not getting as many touches as Chris Ivory, but he’s absolutely outplaying him right now.

Wide Receivers

Rueben Randle, Giants (35% Owned): Randle has scored in three of the Giants’ last four games, and he’s about to see his role increase quite a bit with Odell Beckham facing a possible one-game suspension. If he’s not in action next week vs. the Vikings, Randle may be Eli Manning’s No. 1 target.

Dorial Green-Beckham, Titans (23% Owned): The Titans may be without Marcus Mariota this week, but Green-Beckham’s size and rapidly improving fundamentals have him looking more like the beast Tennessee thought they were drafting in the second round. If Zach Mettenberger is under center, expect him to feed his biggest receiver.

Devin Funchess, Panthers (36% Owned): Ted Ginn has clearly been Cam Newton’s top receiver, but he’s seen at least five targets in each of the last two weeks, and the Panthers’ offense is rolling.

Tight Ends

Owen Daniels, Broncos (36% Owned): Daniels is going to be Denver’s tight end after Vernon Davis dropped yet another pass he simply has to haul in. With Peyton Manning possibly returning to action, and the Broncos desperately needing to win to stave off the Chiefs, he’s a sneaky add.
