Holly Holm, Ronda Rousey Rematch: Miesha Tate Gives Even Bigger Edge To New Champ [VIDEO]

Be careful what you wish for, Ronda Rousey, you just might get it.

That's what UFC bantamweight contender Miesha Tate says about the former champion's rematch with Holly Holm, according to mmajunkie.com.

Holly Holm Unhappy About Eight-Month Wait For Rematch With Ronda Rousey

Tate, who was hopeful of becoming the opponent for Holm's first title defense, said she didn't think a rematch between Rousey and Holm is a good idea -- not only for her own interests but for those of Rousey as well.

"I'm not a fan of the rematch in that amount of time, because with everything else that Ronda has going on, plus her injuries, I just don't think it's going to amount to a good outcome," Tate said.

"It wasn't a competitive fight, and Holly has the perfect style to beat Ronda. Holly's already back in the gym training; she had no injuries from the fight. She knows she's fighting Ronda next, but she gets this whole time to fix maybe even the little things she wanted to improve on in the fight. She's going to be even more prepared, and I don't know if it's a smart move, because Ronda might go 0-2."

Conor McGregor Victory Over Jose Aldo Should Give Holly Holm Bigger Bargaining Chip

Holm and Rousey are tentatively schedule to fight again at UFC 200 on July 9, 2016.

Rousey, who recently said she still has loose teeth from her knockout loss at the hands of Holm on Nov. 14 in Australia, is scheduled to begin shooting the remake of the Patrick Swayze movie "Roadhouse" in February.

She has also said that she wants to take her acting career seriously, in which case she may be taking acting classes for the role.

So while Holm's focus for the next eight months will be on Rousey and their rematch, the former champion won't be concentrating on the champion until sometime in the spring. Tate may be biased, but she also may be on to something.
