WWE End Of The Year Awards

Throughout every sport, memorable moments were made and triumphs occurred that will last a lifetime, while there were also some notorious flubs that will last a lifetime.

Here are the very best games for 2015.

Best WWE Matches In 2015

7) Vinci Victory

Serena Williams seemed poised to win the first calendar Grand Slam since 1988, but an unlikely situation unfolded in the semifinals of this year's U.S. Open. Roberta Vinci, who was ranked 42 slots lower than Williams, ousted her from the tournament in three sets to earn her way into her first Grand Slam finals appearance. Though she eventually lost to Flavia Pennetta in the finals, the upset of Williams shocked the world and will never be forgotten.

6) Wild Jays

The conclusion of the ALDS between the Blue Jays and Rangers was one of the craziest games of the year. Texas took a 3-2 lead after Blue Jays catcher Russell Martin went to throw down to a runner at third, only for the catcher to hit the batter standing in the box. The Rangers then proceeded to make three errors in the bottom half of the frame, allowing Toronto to eventually win 6-3 and emerge victorious in the winner-take-all game.

5) American History

Though it technically wasn't a game, one of the most memorable moments of 2015 saw American Pharoah become the first Triple Crown winner since Affirmed in 1978. Pharoah set the dramatic stage after winning the Kentucky Derby and Preakness Stakes and finally made history by winning the Belmont Stakes.

4) Royals Crowned

Kansas City rallied back several times in the 2015 MLB postseason, but they saved their best rally for last. Entering the ninth inning of Game 5 trailing 2-0, the scrappy Royals managed to scratch two runs across to tie the game, thanks to a head's up base running play by Eric Hosmer and a throwing error by Lucas Duda. Kansas City then put up a five-spot in the 12th inning to earn its first World Series championship since 1985.

3) A Winter Classic

The New Year kicked off with some tremendous NHL action as the Winter Classic tradition raged on. The Capitals hosted the Blackhawks at Nationals Park in a game that truly was a thriller. Washington jumped out to a 2-0 lead until Chicago scored two straight goals in the first and second periods. The game seemed destined for overtime until Troy Brouwer buried the game-winner on the power play with 12.9 seconds left in regulation.

2) Championship Warriors

Golden State hadn't won an NBA title in 40 years entering the 2015 season and that 1975 triumph was a distant memory. That all changed when the Warriors ousted the Cavaliers in six games to capture the NBA's highest honor, knocking off Cleveland, 105-97, in the decisive Game 6.

1) From Deflategate to Dynasty

Despite all the distractions that the Patriots caused with Deflategate, Tom Brady and Bill Belichick put it all behind them to win their fourth Super Bowl championship together. While people are still scratching their heads as to why the Seahawks didn't run the ball down by four with the ball on the Patriots' one-yard line, it made for a memorable finish. With Marshawn Lynch on the sidelines instead of running it in, Russell Wilson's pass was picked off by Malcolm Butler, sealing the victory for New England.
