Holly Holm News: UFC Champion Doubts Whether Ronda Rousey Wants Rematch [VIDEO]

Holly Holm is beginning to wonder whether her biggest payday ever will even materialize. Maybe she knows something UFC fans don't.

A day before the announcement about Ronda Rousey hosting "Saturday Night Live" on Jan. 23, the reigning UFC women's bantamweight champion questioned the former champion's willingness to step back into the ring for a rematch with Holm, according to mmafighting.com.

"I just don't want to wait around for things if they're not set in stone," Holm said in Monday's edition of "The MMA Hour," via mmafighting.com. "A lot of people have been talking about the rematch, but nobody really knows for sure. I haven't really heard if she really wants it yet or not or if she's occupied with some other things right now. I think that's the hardest part for me. ... I don't want to wait around for something that may not happen. I want to be able to fight soon. I like being active, because I love the sport."

Rousey still has four months to go in her six-month suspension from fighting in the UFC because of the concussion she suffered in the knockout loss to Holm on Nov. 14. She is scheduled to shoot a pair of movies in the interim, and now has the SNL gig, according to ESPN.

Rousey will become the first MMA fighter and just third female athlete ever to host SNL -- tennis star Chris Evert and figure skater Nancy Kerrigan were the first and second, respectively. While the honor is another feather in Rousey's marketability cap, it also represents another sign that Holm's line of thinking may be on track.

Holm signed a new contract with the UFC and hinted that an announcement regarding her next fight could be coming soon. But UFC president Dana White, who previously insisted that Holm's next fight will be a July 9 rematch against Rousey, backtracked from that statement, according to The Los Angeles Times.

"I honestly don't know what we're going to do," White said on Monday. "I've got to talk to Ronda. I haven't had one business conversation with her since her fight."

Holm did not discount Miesha Tate becoming her next opponent.

"That's a fair guess," Holm said of Tate during her interview. "I think that fight makes a lot of sense to people. She was kind of the one that was in line for the title before they gave the fight to me. I think people are curious to see how it will go because this is a whole new title fight now."
