Charlie Whitehurst Girlfriend: Jewel Is Biggest Score NFL QB Will Ever Land [PHOTO, VIDEO]

Though his former team lost the national championship, Charlie Whitehurst proved he's still a winner.

It was revealed Monday night during Clemson's 45-40 defeat to Alabama, that the former Tigers and current Colts quarterback is dating Jewel. The relationship between Whitehurst and the beautiful singer was revealed in a photograph by "ET Now" host Nancy O'Dell.

O'Dell, who is close with Jewel, ran into her and Whitehurst at the game and revealed in an Instagram post that the two are an item. The happy couple took in the game, but it wasn't a positive result for Whitehurst's former school.

This isn't the first time Jewel has been linked to a sports figure as she was married to nine-time world champion Rodeo cowboy Ty Murray, but the two split up in July 2014, ending their six-year marriage.

Throughout his NFL career, Whitehurst has been known more for holding the clipboard on the sidelines than his in-game prowess, earning him the nickname "Clipboard Jesus." The moniker isn't exactly his favorite, and he once said he doesn't "endorse it," according to ESPN.

Regardless, Jewel is the biggest score he's ever made -- on or off the field.

Whitehurst, 33, was selected 81st overall in the third round of the 2006 NFL Draft and has had two stints with San Diego along with stops in Seattle, Tennessee and Indianapolis. He has appeared in a grand total of 25 games while throwing for 10 touchdowns and seven interceptions.

After being waived by the Titans in November, Whitehurst was quickly claimed by the Chargers, with whom he played four games before being placed on injured reserve on Dec. 28.

With a girlfriend like Jewel, hitting the injured reserve doesn't seem like such a bad thing.
