Hulk Hogan WWE Return Nixed: Creative Differences, No CM Punk Wrestlemania Match To Blame For TNA Return? [VIDEO]

It was reported Monday that Total Nonstop Action Wrestling was going to get another batch of Hulkamania as Hulk Hogan, arguably wrestling's biggest star ever, has decided to turn away from the offer by World Wrestling Entertainment and stay with TNA. The original reports of Hogan walking away from the WWE over money are false as reports indicate that Hogan was upset with WWE's planned storyline direction for him at its historic WrestleMania XXX pay-per-view from New Orleans this April.

Hogan quit TNA in storyline on an edition of TNA Impact Wrestling earlier this month as his contract expired on Oct. 1 in real life and he was written off programming, but it would appear that he's headed back to Dixie Carter's organization after creative disputes with the WWE led to him not signing a contract.

Examiner.com reports that Hogan in fact is returning to TNA after declining an offer from WWE that would have seen the wrestling legend earn what The Rock and Brock Lesnar make for one match over a 12-month span in his contract. Reports then surfaced that Hogan felt like he was being lowballed and decided to bail on the WWE in favor of a return to TNA, but while money may in fact be part of it, the website reports that it wasn't the main issue holding the Hulkster back.

Hogan had hoped to work a program with one of the more popular current WWE stars in CM Punk at WrestleMania, but the WWE nixed the idea since Punk is one of their top stars and is still on the rise, and deserves a main event billing instead of a nostalgia match against Hogan. Examiner.com reports that Hogan was upset at the creative differences he had with the WWE and he wasn't happy about the list of names that the company had thought up to square off with the icon at its marquee event.

Examiner.com reports that neither the WWE or Hogan has spoken about this disagreement publicly, but sources within the company have leaked out what happened to cause such dissention between the two sides. While the names of who the WWE had thought up for Hogan to face at WrestleMania weren't revealed, speculation has led insiders to believe that it was Jack Swagger was slated to face him in a "Real American" vs "Real American" match, or Fandango would fight Hogan at the event.

While Hogan wanted to face Punk, the WWE is reportedly planning on a different direction for the "Straight Edge Superstar" and was hoping for Hogan to draw some interest by facing a different opponent at WrestleMania, but that led to Hogan abruptly halting contract talks and opting for a return to TNA.

WWE WrestleMania XXX will take place in New Orleans on April 6, 2014, but as of now it will not feature 'Hulkamania' as the initial WrestleMania did at Madison Square Garden back in 1985.
