The man straightened out Jay Cutler, so how hard can Ryan Tannehill be?
New Dolphins head coach Adam Gase says he believes that 2015 was only a "hiccup" for Tannehill and that he can help the quarterback continue on his path of progression that helped him earn a contract extension after 2014, according to the Palm Beach Post.

"I feel pretty good about what we can do with him," Gase said Thursday on the Joe Rose Show, 560-WQAM via the Post. "I feel like we can help him.
"It was going upward from the time he started. I know last year was a hiccup and I know he was disappointed in last year and obviously every Dolphin fan was frustrated with the situation that occurred. We feel really good with the staff we're putting together, how we're going to build this thing offensively. I feel like we can help with the sacks, we can eliminate some of these hits he's taken. That's going to be key."

Gase helped Cutler post the highest passing efficiency rating of his career in their one season together with the Bears last season. Cutler had 21 touchdowns and just 11 interceptions in 2015, marking the best TD-to-interception ratio of his career.
Gase also helped reduce Cutler's sack total from 38 in 2014 to 29 last season. Tannehill suffered 45 sacks in 2015, which Gase believes contributed to his struggles.
"I felt like we did a good job of it in Chicago as far as helping the guy that had struggled a little bit," Gase said. "And I feel like Ryan, him being younger than Jay was, is to our benefit."
Tannehill is signed as Miami's quarterback through 2020, so Gase has to make the most of the Dolphins deck he's been dealt.
