Aaron Hernandez Grievance: NFLPA Attempting To Recoup $6 Million From New England Patriots On Behalf Of Murder Suspect, Ex Tight End [VIDEO]

The NFLPA has filed a $6.21 million grievance against the New England Patriots on the part of jailed former tight end Aaron Hernandez.

In two separate motions, the player's association is seeking $1.323 million in unpaid salary guaranteed Hernandez for the 2013 season and nearly $5 million in 2014 salary and bonuses stipulated in the contract extension he signed in 2012.

The union previously filed a grievance on the former Florida star's behalf in August, seeking to recoup $82,000 he supposedly was due as part of an offseason workout bonus clause.

Hernandez, 23, remains jailed without bail and held in solitary confinement in connection with the late June killing of 27-year-old semi-pro football player and one-time associate Odin Lloyd.

Lloyd's bullet-riddled body was found less than a mile from Hernandez's North Attleborough mansion on June 17 and police have speculated Hernandez may have shot him as part of a scheme to keep him from implicating him in other violent crimes police have sought to link him to.

A grand jury continues to investigate his alleged involvement in 2012 drive-by, double-slaying in Boston that still remains unsolved.

Hernandez has pled not guilty in the Lloyd case.
