Michael Phelps knows how to make an entrance.
The highly-decorated Olympic swimmer took part in the Arizona State University student section's infamous "Curtain of Distraction" to divert an Oregon State free-throw shooter during Thursday's game at Wells Fargo Arena.

Phelps emerged, with all of his gold medals draped around his neck, wearing nothing but a speedo and swim cap. He stood between two shirtless male students wearing bowties to distract Oregon State player Stephen Thompson Jr. in the second half.
The diversion worked, as Thompson missed both free throws and ASU marched on to an 86-68 blowout of its opponent.

The 18-time Olympic gold medalist is at ASU to train for the 2016 Rio Games, but he also intends to be a big part of the school in the future, well beyond his swimming career. Phelps plans to work as an assistant swim coach at the university when he retires following the Olympics, according to ESPN.
On Thursday, Phelps came up with a very creative way to show his school spirit, even before his retirement. Hopefully he bottles up some of that energy for the Rio Olympic Games this summer.
