Marco Pappa, a 28-year-old midfielder for the Colorado Rapids of MLS, may be protecting his girlfriend Stormy Keffeler, ex- Miss Washington, from charges that she stabbed him on Dec. 17.
Police believe that Pappa, who was found with a 2-3 inch stab wound in his apartment last month, was stabbed inside the apartment. Keffeler was drunk and confused when police arrived at the scene and covered in blood, per TMZ. Police said there was blood all over the walls as well as on a knife in the kitchen.

Keffeler also said "I've had an accident at my boyfriend's apartment" when she called the cops, and initially said that Pappa was “bumped by an unknown person” on their way home from a bar. She changed her tune when they arrived and eventually stopped cooperating entirely.
The cops seem “convinced” the stabbing happened in the apartment, although when they responded to the call he was apparently “adamant’ that Keffeler was not his attacker.

Keffeler and Pappa don’t have squeaky clean rap sheets. Keffeler had to surrender her Miss Washington crown after it was discovered she never disclosed a drunk-driving conviction. Pappa was arrested for drunk driving as well in July 2015, and missed five games, according to ESPNFC.
The Rapids released a statement that read: "We are aware of the situation and have notified Major League Soccer. We have spoken with the player and will cooperate with the League on their evaluation of this matter. At this time we will have no further comment."
