Super Bowl 50 Prop Bets: What To Wager On Based On If You're Picking The Panthers Or The Broncos [VIDEO]

Super Bowl 50 is almost here, and if you aren’t a Panthers or Broncos fan you may be struggling to get super interested in the matchup. So to spice it up, here are some nice prop bets to throw some cash on depending on which team you think will be hoisting the Lombardi trophy.

Cam Newton Can Be The NFL's LeBron, If The Panthers Lose

Carolina Panthers Props

Cam Newton Scores a Rushing TD (+200):Newton has scored at least one rushing touchdown in eight games this year, and had 10 on the season. As good as the Panthers offense has been all season, balance has been the key. Newton has reached 300 yards passing just four times, and two of those outings were against a historically bad Saints defense. The Broncos had the NFL’s No. 1 pass defense, and they will be able to limit him there. But no one can stop Cam from reaching the end zone on the ground.

Greg Olsen, Most Receiving Yards (+300): Ted Ginn is getting a ton of buzz for his big play potential, but any of Newton’s mostly anonymous receiving corps can break a big play. TE Greg Olsen is his No. 1 option, and the most consistent receiving TE in the game not named Rob Gronkowski.

Peyton Manning To The Rams Isn't Crazy

Panthers Over 13 Points in First Half (-130): The Panthers put points up on the board, and they have a tendency to start fast and let their opponent back in the game. Denver probably won’t start too fast, but expect Cam and co. to be “dabbin’” early. It’s worth noting the Panthers have scored fewer than 27 points only three times this year.

First Score Of The Game Panthers Safety (+2000): It’s happened to Manning before…so why not?

Denver Broncos Props

Demaryius Thomas, Super Bowl MVP (+2500): If Peyton Manning has a big game, it’ll likely involve Thomas, his No. 1 wide receiver. Thomas has a major size advantage over Panthers CB Josh Norman, so if they stick Norman on him, expect Manning to give him the chance to win the battle. Manning is the focus, but Thomas has his own hearwarming narrative going on. His mother was released from prison recently, and only saw her son play for the first time during these playoffs. A big game could mean an MVP for him.

Peyton Manning Records 300 or More Passing Yards (+200):  This will seem foolish to some, but if you think Denver’s winning the Super Bowl, then it’s probably because of Manning, not the C.J. Anderson/Ronnie Hillman RB duo. Don’t underestimate Manning’s weaponry, and the ability of a legend to ramp it up for one, single game.

Over 5 ½ QB Sacks Combined: If Denver’s going to win, that means they are harassing Cam Newton into bad decisions and getting sacks. If Newton tries to do too much with his legs, he could play into Denver’s hands. And the Panthers’ pass rushers are no slouches either, although it hurts that Jared Allen is banged up.

Cam Newton Under 1 ½ Passing TDs (+150): Newton’s an improved passer, but again, balance is Carolina’s strong suit. If they get in close, expect Cam or Jonathan Stewart, or even Mike Tolbert to try punching it in. And if Denver has their way, their secondary will lock down Newton’s no-name skill players.
