The possible reason behind the Johnny Manziel-Colleen Crowley breakup has taken a curious turn.
The Manziel-Crowley relationship seemed doomed from the start, if for no other reason than the two hooked up during what seemed to be the height of Manziel's celebrity status -- the offseason leading up to the 2014 NFL Draft -- when Manziel was showing up on social media seemingly with a different woman in each post.

The two stayed together two years, but reports of their breakup surfaced last month, and earlier this month, Crowley filed a restraining order against the Browns quarterback, saying for the second time in three months that Manziel had become physical with her.
But another explanation involving Manziel's buddy, Mavericks forward Chandler Parsons, has been offered via Terez Owens.

"For those of you wondering what went wrong with the fairy-tale romance of Johnnny Manziel and Coleen Crowley, this may be your smoking gun," Terez Owens reported. "We're hearing that jealousy caused Johnny Football to go Johnny Bananas. Jealous of who you ask? Only the NBA's elite male model, Chandler Parsons. Our insider tells us Manziel firmly believes Chandler Parsons slept with his then Girlfriend Coleen Crowley. Maybe Jealousy got the best of Manziel, or maybe it was those darn concussions? I'm sure Johnny Angel wasn't being 100% faithful either."
Parsons once dated Crowley's sister, Robyn, though they are no longer together, and Parsons and Manziel were at a concert together in Dallas in January, according to The Dallas Morning News.
"I've known him for five years," Parsons said, responding to a photo of them together circulating on social media. "He dated my ex-girlfriend's little sister and I've known him since the Houston days. We were just playing ping-pong and enjoying the concert."
Mavericks coach Rick Carlisle said he was not concerned with Parsons' affiliation with Manziel, WFAA.com reported Wednesday. Curiously, when Parsons was asked about his relationship with Manziel, he responded with "no comment."
