Johnny Manziel News: Mike Evans Avoids Questions About QB Drinking At His Wedding [VIDEO]

Johnny Manziel has a loyal friend in his former Texas A&M teammate Mike Evans.

The Buccaneers receiver had the quarterback serve as one of the groomsman at his wedding and while he confirmed that Johnny Football gave a heck of a speech, he avoided questions about him drinking during the celebration.

Cowboys Interest In Johnny Manziel Not Dead

"He seemed good, I was just happy he was there," Evans told TMZ about Manziel before being asked if the liquor was flowing. "I was doing my own thing, I don't know [about alcohol]. I don't know. I was just worried about me."

Evans added that Manziel did get into a dancing groove at the wedding and "everyone had a good time," but he was also tight-lipped about what went on during the event.

Johnny Football's Grandfather Is Another Enabler

Manziel has been making headlines for all the wrong reasons lately. After he checked into rehab last offseason, there have been countless incidents of him going out and partying. He even lied about a video that surfaced to Browns officials, which resulted in a two-game benching.

The former Heisman Trophy winner was then benched for the final game of the season after reportedly showing up to practice drunk, though the team enabled him by claiming he had a concussion.

Manziel has also allegedly been a part of two domestic violence incidents with his ex-girlfriend, model Colleen Crowley.

All of the off-field drama has led to new Browns coach Hue Jackson revealing the team intends to cut the embattled quarterback in March. Evans hopes he'll land on his feet somewhere.

"I hope he gets another shot," Evans said. "He's an amazing talent, but it depends on where he ends up."
