Serena Williams Rumors: No. 1 Player Seemingly Doesn't Know What A Flu Shot Is [VIDEO]

There must not be a drug store near Serena Williams' Palm Beach Gardens, Fla. home.

The world's top-ranked player withdrew from the 2016 Qatar Total Open, citing the flu, according to the Washington Post.

Serena Williams Has Habit Of Getting Sick During Grand Slams

She seems to get the flu a lot, which raises the question whether she has thought about driving over to her nearest drug store to get a flu shot.

"This marks the second consecutive tournament in which the 34-year old has dropped out; Williams also withdrew from the Dubai Tennis Championships on Saturday because of illness, in all likelihood the same one," the Post reported.

Serena Williams Developing Second-Week Yips During Grand Slam Events

"I have come down with the flu and do not feel 100 percent," Williams said in a statement to the Qatar Tennis Federation on Tuesday. "I need to take this time to recover but I do look forward to returning to Doha and seeing my fans soon."

Williams' invincibility on the court has taken a hit with losses in her last two Grand Slam events --- in the finals of the Australian Open to Angelique Kerber and in the semifinals of the U.S. Open to Roberta Vinci.

But her biggest nemesis seems to be viral bugs. She complained of having the flu last year during the French Open as she struggled past Timea Bacsinsky during the semifinals and then defeated Lucie Safarova in the finals.

And while she didn't use the term "flu" to describe her bizarre behavior during a doubles match during the 2014 Wimbledon Championships, she did talk as if she had some kind of strange virus that prevented her from being able to bounce a ball correctly on the grass or get her serve across the net.

"Her Wimbledon explanation: After losing meekly the previous Saturday in a third-round singles match to 25th seed Alizé Cornet, Williams took to her bed for the next three days, feeling dehydrated, dizzy and feverish, 'just in my room, sweating like crazy,' SI.com reported. "She was not examined by a doctor. Venus urged her repeatedly to pull out of their Tuesday doubles match. 'Begged me not to play,' Serena says."
