Rory McIlroy Workout Update: Golfer Continues Shaming Analyst Over Weight Training Issue [VIDEO]

Don't make Rory McIlroy angry; you wouldn't like him when he's angry.

Golf analyst Brandel Chamblee is finding that out the hard way. Days after Chamblee voiced his concern that McIlroy was working out too much, like a now-sidelined Tiger Woods did, and that McIlroy's body might suffer the same kind of breakdown.

Golf Channel Analyst Worries Rory McIlroy Will Follow Tiger Woods Workout Path To Body Destruction

McIlroy has since gone after Chamblee, making sure the social media world knows how ignorant the Golf Channel employee is about weight training.

McIlroy posted an Instagram video of himself working out in his hotel room after he previously tweeted a photo of himself engaging in a squat exercise in response to Chamblee's comments about McIlroy's workouts.

I don't know the full extent of what (Rory's) doing, but when I see the things he's doing in the gym, I think of what happened to Tiger Woods," Chamblee said earlier this week. "And I think more than anything of what Tiger Woods did early in his career with his game was just an example of how good a human being can be, what he did towards the middle and end of his career is an example to be wary of. That's just my opinion. And it does give me a little concern when I see the extensive weightlifting that Rory is doing in the gym."

McIlroy referenced Chamblee during his news conference prior to this week's Northern Trust Open in Pacific Palisades, Calif.

"It probably started at the -- probably end of 2010 is when it started because I had back problems and as a 19-, 20-year-old having back problems isn't really the -- really you're just at the start of your career, and you don't want to have to keep managing that for the rest of your career," McIlroy said, according to geoffshackleford.com. "So it was really the middle of 2010, end of 2010 where I realized that this isn't going to get any better unless I start to take care of myself better. So getting in the gym, eating better, and I think from the start of 2011, the direct correlation between leading a healthier lifestyle and my performance on the course was the same. I won my first major in 2011. I got to the best World Ranking I had ever been in 2011, and then it just continued from there."

When asked whether McIlroy had done any squats that day, he quipped, "Not yet. I'm planning to, though. Maybe with Brandel on my back."

The amount of force his swing exerts on his back is precisely the reason McIlroy is working out - so that the rest of his back can withstand that force and keep him from breaking down.

How much longer McIlroy intends on shaming Chamblee is uncertain.
