The Dancing With the Stars Season 22 cast were recently revealed, and active athletes Von Miller, Paige VanZant and Antonio Brown were among the contestants who will show their skills on the dance floor.
Miller, who was named Super Bowl 50 Most Valuable Player last month after leading the Denver Broncos to a big win over the Carolina Panthers, will be paired with Witney Carson, People reported.
Carson said that like in football, Miller will have to show how great of a teammate he is in order for them to succeed in the 22nd season of popular dance show.
"We've got to be teammates," Carson said. "Just like how he is on the field with his teammates, how they always have his back? That's how we have to be as a partnership. That's what people fall in love with - the partnership you have. We're really going to work on that so we can make it to the top."
Based on what he saw during the time he spent with Miller in the past weeks, Carson believes that the Broncos linebacker will be successful because he is very hardworking and dedicated to what he is doing.
Meanwhile, VanZant was expected to be featured at UFC 200 later this year, but her fans were shocked to know that the mixed martial artist was also among the DWTS Season 22 contestants.
According to Yahoo, VanZant, who was a dancer because she became a professional mixed martial artist, will be the third UFC fighter to join the show after Chuck Liddell and Randy Couture, but both UFC legends were already retired when they competed in DWTS.
While she will be very busy training for DWTS, VanZant, who will team up with former DWTS winner Mark Ballas, clarified that she could still compete at UFC 200.
"The goal is still UFC 200, I've known for a while that's the one I want to be on," VanZant told Fox Sports. "Perfect timing. If I were to make it to the finals of the show, I'd still have a six-to-eight-week fight camp, which would be great. I'm excited to hopefully win on 'Dancing with the Stars' and then go fight on UFC 200."
Aside from Miller, Brown will join the list of NFL players who competed in DWTS. Miller and Brown will try to emulate the successful stints of fellow NFL players like Jerry Rice, Emmitt Smith, Hines Ward, Donald Driver, Jason Taylor and Warren Zap.
DWTS Season 22 will kick off on March 21 on ABC.
