Russell Wilson, Ciara Engagement Update: Juicy Details Revealed As Quarterback, Singer Plan To Tie Knot [PHOTO, VIDEO]

After months of speculation, Russell Wilson finally popped the question to Ciara and she said yes.

One of the NFL's most powerful couples is now engaged as the Seahawks quarterback prepares to tie the knot with the R&B singer. There had been plenty of buzz surrounding a possible engagement between the two, and it's finally official.

Now, the romantic details of what went into the engagement have come to light.

Wilson, 27, proposed to Ciara, 30, when they were vacationing on an island off the coast of Africa.

"She was shocked when they landed in Seychelles at the exclusive resort North Island," the singer's rep told Us. "The biggest surprise was that Russell proposed to his new fiancée at the romantic, private Honeymoon Beach."

The couple is also, of course, one step closer to having sex. Ciara and Wilson are both very religious, and they decided to take a vow of celibacy until they are married. The wedding date, however, hasn't been made publicly official yet.

Though they took an abstinence oath, the "Dance Like We're Making Love" singer certainly isn't a version. Ciara has a son with her ex-fiance, rapper Future, whom Wilson has played the role of stepfather to.

It hasn't always been a smooth rose to the altar for the couple. Future has gone public about his problems with Wilson playing such an active role in his son's life. Ciara also entered a legal battle with him after the rapper called her a bad parent in a Twitter tirade.

Wilson and Ciara both took to Instagram to share the terrific news of their engagement.

And as fans of the couple will likely agree, Wilson realizes how nice it is to call Ciara his fiancee.

"Fiance sounds way better," Wilson said in a video he shared on Instagram.
