The best NHL double date of all time occurred recently.
Capitals forward Alex Ovechkin, known as the "Great 8" and his fiancée, Nastya Shubskaya, were recently seen out and about with hockey legend Wayne Gretzky, known as "The Great One" and his wife, Janet.
Ovechkin and Shubskaya both took to Instagram to share photos of them standing next to Gretzky and thanking him and his wife for a great night out together. The couple has been engaged since September, and perhaps Gretzky will be one of the many high-profile guests to attend their wedding.
The three-time Hart Trophy winner was previously engaged to Russian tennis star Maria Kirilenko, but they called it off and broke up in July 2014. Now, he and Shubskaya, a 21-year-old Russian model, are headed toward the altar.

Ovechkin's professional life is also going very well as he leads the entire NHL with 42 goals this season and could be well on his way to winning the Maurice "Rocket" Richard Trophy as the league's highest goal-scorer for the sixth time in his career.
The Capitals have had an amazing season and became the first team to clinch a berth into the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Entering Friday, Washington has played to a 50-14-5 record with an NHL-best 105 points as they remain the only team with a postseason berth at this point in the campaign.
Ovechkin is tied for second on the Capitals with 63 points, and judging by Shubskaya's best Instagram shots, he's scoring pretty well off the ice too:
