The food that caused Detroit Lions wide receiver Nate Burleson to suffer a broken left wrist last month will now feed him for a year. Burleson, who sustained the broken wrist when he was trying to save a pizza box from sliding down off of the seat of his car during a single-car accident, revealed via his Twitter account that DiGorno Pizza gave him a year's supply of coupons to help him avoid carry out incidents along with some other gifts.

Burleson posted part of the letter that the company sent him in the picture he revealed on his Twitter and Instagram accounts. "Hello Nate, We hope you are feeling better after your recent car accident and are on the road to recovery," the letter read. "DiGiorno Pizza understands the challenges that come with carry out and delivery pizza so we're sending you a gift along with a year supply of DiGorno pizza so you can skip carry out." Burleson had surgery following the initial incident and is hoping to return to the field soon.
ESPN reports that Burleson is inching his way closer to playing on the field again as he began lifting weights last week and was fitted for his game-day brace that will go over his forearm. The Lions improved to 5-3 after defeating the Dallas Cowboys 31-30 with a late comeback Sunday and will have a bye week in Week 9 before returning Nov. 10 for a clash against the Bears in Chicago.
Burleson played in three games this year while netting 19 receptions for 239 yards without reaching the end zone before the injury, and the Lions hope that perhaps he'll be good to go following the bye week.
It would appear that the team won't have to worry about him hurting himself due to saving carry out pizzas anymore now that he has enough frozen pizza to last him through the Super Bowl and beyond.
