John Cena made his return to WWE Sunday night after an absence that spanned over two months due to a legitimate injury that saw the WWE's ratings begin to fall as it tried to navigate through over eight weeks of television without the face of the franchise. But if the WWE is in need of a ratings jolt, perhaps Cena is the man to help them achieve that after he returned at the WWE Hell in a Cell pay-per-view Sunday night and defeated Alberto Del Rio for the World Heavyweight Championship--a title he's hoping to breathe some life into.
Cena was on the shelf for two months due to surgery he underwent after the WWE's SummerSlam pay-per-view back on Aug. 18 to repair a torn triceps and distended elbow. Cena was slated to be absent until the WWE's Royal Rumble event in January, but made a quicker recovery than originally thought, leading to the WWE advertising the Cenation leader for a clash with Del Rio for the gold.
Cena won the title Sunday night when he dodged a cross armbreaker attempt by Del Rio and lifted him up for the Attitude Adjuster and nailed it for the 1-2-3 victory at the American Airlines Arena in Miami.
The World Heavyweight Championship has often been given the backseat to the WWE Championship, and Cena took to his official Twitter account Monday morning to share with his followers that he plans on implementing some value to a title that has been seen as an inferior belt in recent years:

Upon his return, the WWE has been advertising Cena for both Monday Night RAW and Friday Night SmackDown appearances through November as a way to build back up the ratings for both programs, which reports last week indicated have taken a hit since the WWE's No.1 star was absent for over two months. Cena tweeted his excitement for getting back in action on the two shows this week:

Cena is back in full swing with the company which leads to a mixed reaction from people as a lot of fans adore the 14-time world champion while others hate him and believe that his injury opened the door for guys like Daniel Bryan and CM Punk to seize the limelight that Cena usually soaks up.
No matter how people feel about him one thing remains true, Cena holding the World Heavyweight Championship seems to bring a sense of importance to the belt that it has lacked in recent years, and if the Superstar's tweets are any indication, he'll look to live through a historic reign in order to restore the title's relevance and status in the company.
