LeBron James Calls Allen Iverson "Pound For Pound" Best Ever [VIDEO]

LeBron James considers Allen Iverson "pound for pound, the greatest player ever," according to BleacherReport.com

As Iverson's expected official retirement NBA announcement nears, James, the league's two-time reigning MVP, took time to marvel at the wonder that was Iverson.

"Pound for pound, he was the greatest, James told BleacherReport. The 6 feet, 170 pound Iverson is the only player 6' 0" or shooter to average 20-plus points per game for his career. His average of 26.7 ranks him first among all such players.

"I'll watch tapes of A.I.," James recently marveled. "I don't take anything from A.I. Well. I do, his will. They say he was 6 feet, but A.I. was like 5-101/2. Do we even want to say 160? Do we even want to give him that much weight? And he played like a 6-8 2 guard. He was one of the greatest finishers we've ever seen."

In all, Iverson netted 24,368 points, making him the shortest player in NBA history to reach 20,000 points for his career.

"You could never question his heart," James added. "Ever. He gave it his all."

Iverson is expected to be feted and officially voice his intentions at the Philadelphia 76ers home season opener against James and Miami on Oct. 30.
