Klay Thompson spends his nights trying to make history for the Warriors. He also spends them out on dates with a mystery lady friend.
The Warriors are in the midst of a historic season with a 69-9 mark, but they'll have to win every one of their last four games to eclipse the Bulls all-time NBA record of 72 wins in one season. Thompson has been a huge part of Golden State's success this season, but that doesn't mean he can't have some fun, too.
The guard was spotted out and about with a mystery lady dining out on a date earlier this week, according to a photo obtained by Terez Owens. Thompson is single, so it makes sense that he is still on the prowl after the buzzer sounds to end Warriors games.
Golden State didn't help itself out when it comes to pursuing history on Tuesday. The Warriors blew a 17-point lead against the lowly Timberwolves (26-52), leading to a 124-117 overtime loss. It marked the first loss for Golden State in overtime this season.
Thompson contributed 28 points in the loss, but it wasn't good enough to keep The Warriors out of a need to win every single game to make history. The team has two matchups with the Spurs (65-12) and Grizzlies (42-36) left on its schedule, not exactly easy opponents.
The Warriors battle the Spurs at home Thursday, travel to Memphis and San Antonio over the weekend and then close out the regular season with a home meeting against the Grizzlies on April 13.
As for Thompson's personal life, his father, two-time NBA champion Mychal Thompson, is likely just glad he wasn't out with one of the Kardashians.
"No," Mychal told TMZ last month when asked about Klay getting with Kourtney Kardashian. "Klay is smart enough to choose the right one, I trust his judgment. I just want him to meet someone like his mother and I'll be happy. [I give him dating advice] all the time. I just tell him to find himself a good girl."
