Jeremy Lin News: ‘Linsanity’ Believes Charlotte Hornets Can Win Despite Having No Superstars Like LeBron James, Stephen Curry

Charlotte Hornets guard Jeremy Lin believes they will not be a pushover in the upcoming 2016 NBA Playoffs despite having no big-name superstars in their roster.

Lin, whose team ended up sixth in the Eastern Conference and will face third seed Miami Heat in the opening round of the postseason, is aware that most fans and basketball experts are already counting them out.

"Obviously, the thing that people say we're missing, we don't have like a LeBron James or a Steph Curry or like an elite shot-blocker or whatever, like a DeAndre Jordan or something like that," Lin said via Solar Entertainment.

But the former Harvard University standout expressed confidence that they can make noise in the playoffs if they will continue "playing the right way" in the postseason. Lin thinks that they should continue playing team basketball and added that their roster depth will be a big factor in the playoffs.

"I feel like for us, the thing that has kind of gotten us to this point is just unselfishness, team chemistry, and then I think playing off of our intelligence," said Lin, who is averaging 11.7 points to go along with 3.2 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game this season. "I also think we have versatility and we have depth."

The Hornets are having one of their best seasons in franchise history. Since returning to the league as the Charlotte Bobcats in 2004, the Hornets have not won more than 44 games and have only made the playoffs twice -- in 2010 and 2014, where they suffered early exits in the opening round.

Hornets starting point guard Kemba Walker is having a solid season, averaging 20.9 points to go along with 5.2 assists and 4.4 rebounds. Nicolas Batum, on the other hand, has also provided a huge lift with his averages of 14.9 points on top of 6.1 rebounds and 5.8 assists per game in his first season in Charlotte.
